About the event
Starting at 6:00 P.M. VIP Reception will begin with drinks and charcuterie for attendees, followed by a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony in honor of the opening Banzerini House inside the Pioneer Living History Museum Opera House.
Our American Tragedy will promptly begin at 7:00 P.M.
Set 4 days post-war in the spring of 1865, they play follows the actors and crew members of Ford’s Theatre on the night of Lincoln’s assassination. Moments after Lincoln is shot, all who are backstage learn that they are being detained and quickly become suspects. Desperate to avert the gallows, accusations fly as people defend their level of involvement or lack thereof. In the hours following Booth’s great escape, the detainees are left to wonder: who knew, who lied, and who took the truth to their graves?
